When I want to go to some nice inexpensive beachfront place for lunch or dinner, one of my favourite places is Cafe Talay in Maenam village.
Nestled right on the beach with unbeatable and uninterrupted views to Koh Phangan, this place ticks 3 most important points for me - it's beachfront, it's got easy parking outside and the food is delicious. Added bonuses are a very relaxed chilled atmosphere and inexpensive prices. That's enough for me to absolutely love the place.
I went there a few days ago with my husband and my friend/business partner, and we had a great time there. It was pretty quiet due to low season in Samui, but still... perfect as usual. The weather couldn't be better, the beach looked stunning, and food was super-tasty!
We ordered Fishcakes, No-Name Prawns( No-name is fried balls made of various vegetables, meats or seafood binds together with egg and tempura flour shaped into small balls and deep fried - delicious!!!!!), Glass Noodle Salad with prawns, Panang Curry with Chicken, and Banana Fritters for dessert.
Unfortunately the fishcakes had disappeared before I realised that we'd better take some pictures :-) Anyway, I tried to save the rest, so I could show you this yummy food :-)
The atmosphere there is always relaxed and friendly. The cafe specialises in Thai and European cuisine and is a real oasis of taste and visual beauty.
A holiday in Samui is all about going to the beach. Here in Maenam we have one of the cleanest, nicest beaches on the island. Even if you are staying in different area, you can come for a day or a few hours to Maenam, have a great lunch in Cafe Talay, and chill on the beach afterwards. You will not regret it, I promise.
You can find it next to Chinese Temple in Maenam Village, not far from the pier. There is a big parking lot outside, so you can easily come by your car.
