Nikki Beach club
Last Wednesday we decided to spend a day in Nikki Beach club.
We had friends visiting us from Europe, so we wanted to have a nice relaxing day and also we were looking for a place for lunch. A few days before that I've bought a newspaper, and there was an advert, saying that every Wednesday Nikki Beach has "Tour De Med" - A day of Mediterranian Cuisine from 11 am to 4 pm. That will do, we thought and we headed there.
Normally the most popular days in Nikki beach are Sundays with its famous Sunday Brunch. But I personally find them a bit overcrowded, sometimes there are no spare bed and not much space in the pool - the whole place is occupied by too many people. So, when we got there about 11.30 am I was actually happy to see that the place is not full, there are available beds, and only a few people in the pool. More people arrived later, but it was still nice and quiet, no party, just chillout music, so everybody could relax.
The buffet was very impressive and endless - there was Southern Mediterranean Cuisine, with dishes such as Filo Pastry with spinach and feta cheese, Tzatziki yoghurt , Greek Salad, shrimp, chicken and beef on skewers, Mousaka, Spanish Paella, Pizza, Pasta dishes, Omelelets, Nicoise salad, Rolled Pork loin with sheeps cheese and salted potatoes;
Eastern Mediterranian cuisine with dishes such as Lebanese hummus, Falafel, Tabbouleh, Stuffed cabbage leaves and Homemade Lamb sausage;
and North African dishes such as Moroccan chicken, Vegetable couscous, and Algerian ratatouille.
Also there were many different desserts ( My favourite were baked Creme Brulee and also crepes with chocolate and fruits which were made right in front of me, very fresh and very yummy indeed!)
Plus variety of fruits and ice-cream.
Basically the food was totally gorgeous. The price was 750 THB per person + 7%VAT + 10%Service charge, so we paid about 1000 per person and it was worth every baht. Drinks weren't included, but we didn't really want to drink alcohol in a middle of the hot day, so we had only water.
We went to swim in the sea there - Lipanoi beach is one of the best on Samui - nice soft sand, very few people, no beach vendors, beautiful palm trees and clear water.
So, my conclusion - I loved it and will go there again. We had a great time with friends, lots of fun, thoroughly enjoyed the food, basically got exactly everything we wanted... so when I get my next day off - I will just go back and repeat the experience.
Now - some pictures from there:
Happy bunch :-)
