Weather

 11.11.2010

Lovely day, some sunshine, no rain...We went to a few places today and were pleasantly surprised to see that water has gone down so much. You can see for yourself:

Outside Buri Rasa Resort yesterday

And today...

Amazing Thailand, isn't it? Yesterday - big drama, today - like nothing happened...

Anyway, first we went to Bophut beach, which was beautiful today, sea was calm, and water was very blue and clean...
Bophut beach is always very peaceful. There are no beach hawkers trying to flog you crap... There are not many jet-ski, only in one spot somewhere near Bandara or even further, there are no "do you wanna tattoo?" boys, only occasional som-tam/chicken lady passes you by, and even she wouldn't stop if you don't call her...
Love this peace and quiet...And view to Koh Phangan is great!

We visited a couple of resorts to see how they are doing after the flood, and again, it was really nice to see that all evidences of flood were cleared up so quickly, that now it looked like nothing ever happened here...People were holidaying as usual, relaxing by the pool or on the beach, trying to get as red as they could, but it was great to see it all after a very depressing week of rain...

Peace Resort

Lovely resort on the beach, bungalow-style, nice garden and pool area, good reasonable prices...

A few things for kids

Then we moved to Zazen Resort, Absolutely stunning little place...I could easily live here :-)

By the way - if you need any help with booking these lovely places - let me know, we have good rates.

Next stop was a corner of a road to Big Buddha - we just admired the view to Bophut and Bangrak and then continued our way to Choengmon and Chaweng...

Choengmon seemed ok, much better than the last time we saw it...

The road to Chaweng was quite good, the flood in front of Iyara and Amari has gone down a lot.

And I said above - we were really surprised to see that we can actually drive through the whole Chaweng , without getting stuck somewhere in deep water...

Outside of Banana Fan Sea resort

The beach there  (Banana Fan Sea -South Chaweng)

It was great to finally see happy faces around... People were clearly enjoying their holiday!

After that, we proceeded to Samui Resotel, which has also nearly finished cleaning its beach, together with Samui Paradise Chaweng.
The beach there is still not perfect but considering that it was a total mess with lots of rubbish a few days ago, it still looks much better now...Give it a few more days, it will be fine.

That's it for today, hope you enjoyed.

  1. That is so funny... I've been following your blog since we got here 2 weeks ago (staying 2.5 months near Choeng Mon). See the little red dot in the ocean on your photo of Choeng Mon beach? That's me and my son playing in the water :-)

Nice blog - very much enjoying all the lovely photos.
