Best Western Samui Bayview Resort
As a travel agent, I regularly do hotels inspections...Sometimes I get unexpected surprise, sometimes I get very disappointed or even frustrated...
So, hope you ( and management of those hotels as well) wouldn't mind if from time to time I will let you know my thoughts about Samui's resorts...
Also, if you have any questions about particular resort, or if you need help with booking - you can always ask me, just send us email on < samuiconnection@gmail.com >
So, a few days ago, when it was nice and sunny, not like today, I went with inspecton to Best Western Samui Bayview Resort.
I drove past this place many times, but because it's up in the hills, and I always had a simple Toyota, I was a bit scared to go up so high. Now I got myself a 4/4 truck and can go anywhere, so I went to check it out.
The place exceeded my expectations... as soon as I walked in, I got stuck on their terrace and couldn't leave for about 10 minutes, the view from there was one of the best I've seen here so far...
Anyway, the rooms are all different, and obviously the more money you pay, the better room you get, and their deluxe rooms and suites are beautiful, while ordinary garden rooms are quite simple ( but still nice and clean). Thai receptionist took me around the place and we took a few pictures, which I want you to see...Overall it was a pleasant surprise...
I know some people say that people who work there are quite slow sometimes, but this is Samui for you.....You cannot compare our island even to Bangkok...Everybody and everything is slow here, except a few overenergetic types, who quickly run out of energy and then run back to their country... People should understand that this is Thai mentality, Thais never rush anywhere, so don't expect same service as in your home country...Of course we do have exceptions here too, but not too often. But as a compensation you get so many nice smiles and kind words, that I think are much more important than being super efficient all the time...Or maybe I just got used to it :-) So, I actually liked the place and I liked the people who work there...
So, here are a few pictures from that place...
The view
The terrace
The place has got so many swimming pools... Everywhere i looked - there was a beautiful pool :-)
Massage beds in the Spa.
Outdoor shower

A Suite

Grand Deluxe room
So, my conclusion was - this resort is a great value for money, the views are to die for, the staff is very pleasant and if you decide to go there - I will advise to get a room with a seaview - you will not want to leave...
And also you may think about renting a car or bike if you want to go out a lot, although they do have a shuttle bus to Lamai and Chaweng and also it's pretty easy to catch a songtaew on the road, beach is also not far at all, just down the hill, but still, if I personally stayed there I would've probably got some kind of transport on my own to make things easier.
Hello Elina,
ReplyDeleteI love your blog...since I found it I'm looking forward to read it every morning...
My husband and I will come to Samui on the 10th of January...do you please maybe know how the beach looks now in South Chaweng?
Wish you a nice day...
Greetings from cold Germany,
Sonja
Sonja, it's all fine now already, and believe me - in January everything will be perfect...It's a high season and people here make sure the island is ready to meet tourists...
