Bangrak Food Market
When it comes to bying food in Samui, normally we have 2 choices - supermarkets and markets.
We also have 7/11 and Family Marts literally every 50 meters, but it's just a convenience store, not a real choice.
Anyway - today I want to tell you about Bangrak Fish Market ( I've just been there this morning for my daily fish supply)
It's one of the oldest places here on the island. Every day many fishermen deliver very fresh fish and seafood to this market, straight from the sea, so that's why it is one of the best places to buy fish and seaood.
Of course there are lots of veggies, salads, fruits, snacks, plus quite a few Thai ladies sell home made Thai food from big saucepans, which cost 20-30 baht per portion. Very yummy indeed!
So, here are a few pictures to give you some idea about the place. It may not look as the most hygienic place on Earth, but believe me - in 5 years bying my food here - I have never been sick or had any problems, so I love coming here...
My baby loves it too - this morning at the market he was given an apple, a pomegranate (which was actually only 15 baht each, so we bought a lot of them), a cookie, some sticky rice and something else that I've failed to recognise, so he had all of it together and would've probably had more if we stayed longer, so I had to drag him out of there before he makes all these kind people go bancrupt :-)
The Bangrak road - the way to the market. Nice and dry!!! That's what we all want to see :-)
Jake is getting greedy - an apple in not enough, he wants a tomato as well, cheeky sod :-)
They will fully prepare your chosen fish for you if you wish ( I always do).
So, all you need to do is put it in the frying pan :-) Free service, by the way!
